Job Description:
Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field
Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
Manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts
Build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs
Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations
Handle objections, concerns, and misunderstandings and secure calls to action to close sales
Serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements
Develop and execute call plans that optimize customer coverage and frequency
Build knowledge of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, products, clinical topics, and sales
Share market intelligence with field, brand, and sales management teams
Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with healthcare providers
Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates
Travel approximately 25% of the time
Collaborate with specialty physicians, pharmacists, nurses, field team members, sales management, marketing, training, customer excellence, and brand-plan stakeholders
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field preferred, or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
Relevant and equivalent industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least five years of experience, with three or more years within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred
High school diploma/GED required when using industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
Proven track record of success in selling
Solid presentation skills
Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach
Ability to develop innovative ideas and solutions to maximize business opportunities
Ability to influence others and serve as a credible and respected role model/resource
Collaborative partnership skills in district and matrix teams
Documented success in leadership and support roles of increased responsibility
Understanding of findings to develop sales strategies
Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience preferred, including physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing
English language proficiency verbally and in writing
Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain credentials
In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools
Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
Valid driver’s license
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements
