Job Description:
Execute AbbVie brand strategy and tactics in the field
Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
Manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts
Build customer relationships and solve customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance
Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations
Handle objections, concerns, and misunderstandings and secure calls to action to close sales calls
Serve customer needs and expectations and build trusted customer relationships
Develop and execute call plans to optimize customer coverage, frequency, access, and sales opportunities
Build knowledge of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, products, clinical information, and sales practices
Share market intelligence with field, brand, and sales teams
Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with healthcare providers
Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates
Travel approximately 20% of the time
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field preferred
Relevant and equivalent industry experience required in lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least five years of experience, with three or more years within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred
High school diploma/GED required
Proven track record of success in selling
Solid presentation skills
In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools
Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
Ability to build collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and matrix teams
HCIR credentialing requirements, potentially including background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, and specific state or city licenses
Good standing and/or eligibility to obtain required HCIR credentials
Valid driver’s license
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements
Ability to travel adequately to cover the territory, including overnight scheduled training events and sales meetings
English language proficiency verbally and in writing for non-English-speaking countries
